The Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 Charger is a unique and versatile all-round device charger that can fast-charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro at 140W and has spare USB ports and a built-in 100W USB-C cable that enable you to charge five devices at the same time.

A desktop USB-C charger is a great on-desk solution for charging multiple power-hungry devices at the same time. They are usually fairly slab-like blocks of USB ports attached to a fairly hefty power brick and then to a wall socket.

With its Nomos 5-in-1 Charger Baseus has created a desktop charger like no other, boasting handy features and wired and wireless charging flexibility alongside top-end ports, with even the chance to call its solution portable.

Specs and features

  • Dimensions:  4.7 x 3.5 x 1.6 inches (11.9 x 8.9 x 4.1cm)
  • Weight: 1.05lb (476g)
  • Ports: 3x USB-C (1x 100W PD 3.0; 1x 140W PD 3.1), 1x USB-A (15W)

  • Wireless iPhone charger: 15W (Qi2)
  • Total power output: 140W
  • Colors: Black

The most obvious features of the Baseus 5-in-1 desktop charger are the built-in USB-C cable and the adjustable wireless charging pad that set it out among the many USB array desktop chargers.

The inclusion of an integrated USB-C cable is very handy as it means you can connect your laptop or any USB-C device without hunting around for a spare charging cable—and checking that the spare cable is rated at the correct wattage: all decent USB-C cables should charge at 60W, but larger laptops will likely require higher 100W or even 140W power delivery for optimal charging.

The cable built into this desktop charger is rated at 100W so is powerful enough to charge all Apple’s MacBooks. However, fast-charging the 16-inch MacBook Pro requires a 140W port and cable.

The Baseus desktop charger has this covered with one of the two spare USB-C ports rated at 140W PD 3.1. The other port matches the built-in cable at 100W PD 3.0.

Alongside these USB-C connections is a USB-A port that is rated at a respectable 15W for charging older devices that still use the non-reversible rectangular connection. 15W is more than enough to charge your AirPods case, for example.

At 2.6 feet (0.8m) the cable is long enough to reach across most desks, and retracts back into the charger body with a slight pull. The connector end then magnetically tidies itself to the front panel of the charger.

Most unique of the features is the magnetic wireless charging pad that unfolds from the top of the desktop charger. This is built for iPhones (12 and later) and can charge wirelessly at 15W as it uses the MagSafe-friendly Qi2 technology.

The maximum power output is 140W so if fast-charging a 16-inch MacBook, you won’t be able to use any of the other ports without reducing power. Other desktop chargers such as the Anker Prime Charger and the Satechi 200W USB-C 6-port PD GaN Charger both have a higher 200W total output, but lack the handy built-in cable and wireless charger.

Design

The good-looking and compact Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 Charger is a little below the average size for a desktop charger, measuring 4.7 x 3.5 x 1.6 inches (11.9 x 8.9 x 4.1cm). It weighs just over a pound and under half a kilo.

While desktop chargers, as their name suggests, are usually static, the Nomos could be picked up and carried in a bag as its power cord goes straight to a power socket (with no unwieldy power brick) and is detachable.

The wireless phone charging pad can be pulled up about 0.6 inches and angled at up to 60 degrees if used as a phone stand.

Next to the Qi2 pad is a smart display that shows a detailed charging status for each output.

Price

The Baseus 5-in-1 Nomos Charger is priced at $149.99 / €149,99, either direct or at Amazon. U.K. shoppers can buy one from AliExpress for £121.24 (usually £166.51), just note it will either have a U.S. plug or EU plus, not a U.K. plug.

For a product with both wired and wireless charging points, this is a reasonable price for a charger that can handle all your devices at the same time.
