tvOS 18.3 now available for Apple TV and Apple TV 4K

Apple has rolled out tvOS 18.3, and as expected, it’s another standard minor update focused on quality-of-life upgrades.

Unlike Apple’s other operating systems, tvOS doesn’t tend to get many feature updates between major releases. Most of the updates to tvOS focus on improving stability and addressing any bugs that have popped up.

However, tvOS 18.2 did see the introduction of new Snoopy-themed screensavers.

In September 2024, Apple rolled out tvOS 18 alongside updates to its other operating systems. Notably, 2024 marked the second year in a row with significant changes for the set-top box.

It brought Apple Intelligence-powered updates to audio and accessibility, including a new dialog enhancement mode that enables even better dialog separation from background audio.

InSight also debuted, allowing users to see more info about the on-screen actors. Currently, InSight is only available for Apple TV+ original movies and shows but should expand to other services.

Apple Music on Apple TV also got an update, thanks to SharePlay. Now, users can create collaborative Apple Music playlists on Apple TV.

You can utilize this feature by playing music in the Apple Music app and selecting the SharePlay icon in the lower-right corner. A QR code will appear on-screen for others to scan.

The new tvOS 18.3 build is number 22K557.
