iPad mini 7, Apple Vision Pro 2, and another executive leaves Apple, on the AppleInsider Podcast

The new iPad mini with A17 Pro

This week saw the surprise release of a new iPad mini, and the predictable criticisms of it, plus more rumors of the future of the Apple Vision Pro.

We’ve been enjoying “Submerged” on the Apple Vision Pro — and AppleInsider has two ex-Navy people who relished it. But then after you take off the all-encompassing, all-surrounding displays of the Apple Vision Pro, there was a somewhat smaller release from Apple.

For this week saw the unexpected release of the new iPad mini 7. If you’re an iPad mini fan, you were delighted and excited.

But if you aren’t, then you weren’t. The new iPad mini is arguably just the smallest of updates to the device, yet in practice it’s enough to make host Wesley Hilliard very happy.

Find out whether he bought one — the answer is not going to be a shock — and join us to play “Where is Apple’s Latest Executive to Leave Going to End Up?”

BONUS: Subscribe via Patreon or Apple Podcasts to hear AppleInsider+, the extended edition which this time takes the usual step back from the news and focuses instead on the bigger picture. Since we vented last week about what Apple does that’s bad — see unions, see suppliers — now it’s time for what’s good. It’s a much more nebulous and hard to pin down side, but there is a reason you and we use Apple gear.
