It’s still only in beta, and there still isn’t any sign of Apple Intelligence, but after more than week with iOS 18, there’s a lot of good and a little bad to say about Apple’s latest iPhone operating system.

Of all the new betas, it’s once more iOS 18 that has had the most attention from Apple — and it’s iOS 18 that is already replete with new features. After more than a week of use in the real world, here are the features you’re going to use, and the ones that might not catch on.

Apple has made many tiny changes that are actually delightful — and host Wes Hilliard thinks he knows why they’ve been done. But Apple has also redesigned Photos, and even casual users are going to find the new look app takes a time to get used to.
