Display supply chain analyst confirms iPhone SE 4 will have a notch

iPhone SE 4 is expected to resemble the iPhone 14

Rumors have been back and forth about iPhone SE 4, whether it gets the new Dynamic Island or the older notch design, and a reliable analyst has confirmed it will have a notch.

Early rumors of the iPhone SE 4 appeared to be too good to be true. Everything from a 48MP camera, Dynamic Island, and a relatively new design went against Apple’s usual attempts to make the budget phone as low-cost as possible.

Enough time has passed that some of the more premium features have trickled down to lower-cost models, so the early rumors appear to be more reasonable. However, a debate remained about how Face ID would be housed, and that has been settled by a prominent supply chain analyst.

According to Ross Young of DSCC, the iPhone SE 4 will have a notch. This also aligns with previous claims about an iPhone 14-like design with a single rear camera.

Dummy units shared Monday also confirmed the possibility of a notch, but the videos were sourced from less reliable leakers. A confirmation from Ross Young helps solidify the likelihood of a notch.

It also makes sense for Apple to include the notch in a budget iPhone. One of the more prominent features of modern premium iPhones is the Dynamic Island, and visible differences like that help drive customers to more expensive models.

AppleInsider has also confirmed with trusted sources that all signs point to a notch for the iPhone SE 4. It likely won’t be much longer before Apple finally reveals the new budget model — likely March or April.
