Apple Home Key support means users can tap their iPhone or Apple Watch to lock or unlock the smart lock using built-in NFC technology. This works even when the iPhone’s battery is too depleted to power the iPhone on.

The fingerprint sensor can store up to 50 fingerprints locally. It is protected by AES128 encryption to keep fingerprints safe.

The battery will last up to 8 months before needing to be replaced. There is also a USB-C port for providing temporary power in case of a dead battery when locked outside.

The U300 is excellent as an indoor or outdoor lock. Since it replaces the doorknob, it can fit in anywhere in your home.

Passage Mode enables users to move freely without auto-lock kicking in, and do not disturb mutes lock sounds during specific time frames. Both work to make the smart door lock work best for the user at different times.

The battery life lasts about 10 months. Two USB-C ports are available for emergency backup power.

Insert a microSD card to record 24/7 up to 512GB of data. Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video records when events are detected and stores footage for a week.

Of course, this is also a doorbell, which can chime your HomePods around your home when rung, show a notification on Apple TV and other devices, and recognize the person’s face using secure data provided by your iPhone’s face recognition data. The doorbell also has a 95 dB speaker for playing chimes or sounding a siren.

A two-way microphone and speaker are also available for speaking through your smartphone to whoever rang the doorbell. After verifying who is at the door, users can easily unlock the door via the Apple Home app in-camera controls.
