Sports fans can enhance their enjoyment of the Paris Olympic Games with the iPhone and Apple hardware, with a variety of ways to keep up with what’s happening in the world’s biggest sporting event.

The Paris Olympic Games will be taking place this summer, and the various sporting events that take place over a brief few weeks will be watched by millions around the world.

To keep up with the action, Apple device users can use a variety of different avenues, whether they are in France or staying at home.

Apple Maps

For visitors to Paris, Apple Maps will be invaluable, thanks to real-time transit updates for the Paris Metro, RER, Paris tramway, RATP buses, and more. Maps will be kept up to date on details on road closures and other games-related travel advisories.

Maps also adds 3D landmarks of the permanent venues, including the Centre Aquatique Olympique and the Parc de Princes. Pop-up locations, including temporary venues and shops, will also be included for the first time ever on Maps.

There is also a variety of Maps Guides to use in Paris, covering restaurants, hotels, and shopping in the city.

Sports coverage

There are quite a few ways to experience the Olympic Games through the App Store as well. For a start, the official Paris 2024 Olympics app is a go-to resource featuring spotlights on popular events and guides to stream the games from local broadcasters.

In the United States, coverage is offered exclusively via Peacock and NBC Sports, which will include customized playlists of highlights for each user via “Your Daily Olympic Recap.” Each compilation will also be narrated by an AI recreation of sportscaster Al Michaels.

On the Apple TV, NBC Universal’s coverage can also be found on the NBC Olympics Hub within the Apple TV app.

Podcasts, News, and Music

For those more inclined to care about France more than the Olympics, Apple Music is offering A Guide to French Music. An editorial feature, it will celebrate the country’s musical riches.
